Since 1999, I’ve been growing my understanding, artistry and expertise to the point where I’m now on the brink of the top tier of UK make up artists. My career began while working on the Buenos Aires fashion scene. I went on to study film and TV make up, where I found the ideal medium for expressing my creativity and passion. This led me to pursue my apprenticeship at the London College of Fashion. I discovered that not only had I more than a natural talent for make up, but also a totally new avenue of expression, exploring the fantasy elements of make up.
Lancome (Paris) spotted my talent and creativity and I joined them at their Buenos Aires studio to gain all the fundamental qualifications required to work as a professional make up artist within a top-tier cosmetics giant. I then transferred to Lancome (UK) and worked in London, expanding my portfolio with experience in PR events.
In 2003, I joined Christian Dior where I have progressed to the level of Senior Make Up Artist for the UK and Ireland. I worked in Back-Stage make up events, fashion shows and presentations, creating stunning designs to enhance the natural beauty of the models. I want my subjects feel gorgeous and confident, and I believe it is as important to be friendly and approachable as it is to be creative. My enthusiasm and affability are the only constants, while the look changes to suit each situation.
In recognition, I have been given great opportunities to create looks for top designers and fashion houses. For example, at the Designer Wedding Show, I created the bridal make up designs for Valentino, Vera Wang and Ungaro. (6000 people attended this event.) I have also participated in London Fashion Week, working for fashion brands like Max Mara, French Connection, Monsoon, John Rocha, Paul Costello, and La Perla.
I have also designed looks for and made for celebrities, both nationally and internationally. I have made up stars attending the BAFTA Awards and other high profile celebrities visiting London. Receiving national and international Media Coverage, my feature works include spreads in the following UK magazines: Hello!, Style, Elle, and Eve and in the international publications: Vogue (Italy) and Hello! (India). TV presentations included features on Channel 4 (UK).
Based in London, I travel internationally on bridal make up assignments and receive many commissions for the magic Omar touch on that most special of days.
